Features
With the release of version 2.0 of TestSenz every user now gets their own desktop environment. The desktop environment provides the user with access to the various aspects of the TestSenz functionality. The exact functionality available to a user is dependent on the users administrative status and the roles they hold on projects but, as a minimum, every user gets access to their personal inbox and the test plans library for the projects they are team members of. The screenshots belows illustrate the TestSenz desktop and some of the functionality available from it.
Access to your TestSenz account is restricted to only those users that you permit, with each user having individual system user names and passwords. New user creation is restricted to administrative users so you can also limit who can add new users to the system. The screenshots below provide some examples for the TestSenz interfaces to create and manage users.
Once you have your users you next need to create projects for them to work on. Each project within TestSenz has a project team and only those users on the project team can access the test plans for the project or be assigned work as part of the project. Each user is given a role when they are assigned to the project team and this controls what they can and can't do within the context of the project. The screenshots below provide examples of some of the TestSenz interfaces for projects and teams.
The mainstay of any QA function are the test plans that are used to perform the actual testing. TestSenz has functionality to aid in the creation, maintenance and execution of test plans. Test plans are broken in sections to provide structure and the tests themselves are created using a WYSIWYG editor in the browser. TestSenz also incorporates the concept of a test pass, where one or more test plans are to be executed (for example, against an upcoming release of software). Individual plans within a pass can be assigned to different team members and progress through the pass monitored through TestSenz itself. The screenshots below provide examples of some of the TestSenz interfaces for test plans.
As users edit and execute test plans or are assigned test plans as part of a test pass TestSenz helps them keep track of what they have in progress by providing each user with an inbox. All test plans that a user is working on or scheduled to execute are listed in their inbox. This allows users to continue work across a number of sessions, including test plan executions. The screenshots below provide examples of the TestSenz user inbox.
